Adriana Blanco

Adriana Blanco, originally from Bogota, Colombia, is an international lawyer with a strong focus on business and human rights. In June 2023, she was called to the Bar in British Columbia.

She completed her Bachelor of Laws with honours at Universidad de la Sabana in Bogota in 2005, specializing in business and company law.

Her career in international law began with a prestigious internship at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Bogota, where she gained invaluable experience and developed a passion for working on global issues.

Recognized for her outstanding academic achievements, Adriana was awarded the renowned Netherlands Nuffic Scholarship. She completed her Master of Laws (LL.M) in International Law, Human Rights, and International Criminal Justice at Utrecht University, The Netherlands, graduating with distinction in 2008.

Adriana’s dedication to professional growth led her to pursue further education in Canada. In 2020, she obtained her Master of Laws (LL.M) in Common Law from The University of British Columbia. Following her academic achievements, she completed her Canadian legal accreditation in June, 2023.

With her extensive background, Adriana brings a unique blend of international experience and a deep understanding of legal frameworks from multiple regions. Her rich portfolio encompasses engagements with international organizations, non-profit institutions, government agencies, universities, research centers, and law firms. This diverse exposure has equipped her with a global perspective and an adaptable approach to legal practice.

Adriana is particularly passionate about promoting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

She is known for her tenacity, adaptability, and analytical skills. As a critical thinker, Adriana is committed to delivering high-quality services to her clients with a genuine sense of empathy.

At Heath Law LLP, Adriana’s legal focus will include commercial law and business transactions, real estate and wills and estates.

Outside the legal realm, Adriana nurtures her personal interests in art and music. She is an avid world traveler and an ardent reader and possesses a deep passion for history, philosophy, and dogs. Fluent in her native Spanish, she also has a basic comprehension of French and Dutch.
