Geoffrey Boddy

Geoff is an experienced commercial litigator who joined Heath Law LLP after moving from Calgary, where he was a partner at the highly regarded litigation firm, JSS Barristers.

He graduated from the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law in 2009, after obtaining his BSc. (Honours) and MSc. in neuroscience from the University of Alberta.

Geoff is licenced to practice in both Alberta and British Columbia. He has successfully appeared as lead counsel before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and all levels of Court in Alberta and Federal Courts, as well as several administrative boards and commissions.

His litigation practice includes breach of contract claims, corporate & commercial disputes, land disputes, construction disputes, builders’ liens, commercial real estate disputes, insurance claim disputes, wrongful dismissal, and wills and estates disputes.

As a client, you can expect Geoff to be a strategic and committed advocate who is meticulous in his approach and confident in the courtroom, delivering strong resolutions and treating you with integrity at every step.

Geoff has received the Client Champion Silver designation award from Martindale-Hubbell and Lawyers.com continuously since 2019, and was recognized as a future litigation star by Benchmark Litigation in 2020 and 2021, and a litigation star in 2022. He was also awarded the Outstanding Lawyer recognition by Pro Bono Students Canada for his work volunteering on human rights matters in 2016.

Geoff enjoys giving back to his community, having served as a child support worker for the Edmonton Women’s Shelter, a volunteer on Alberta’s 100th Anniversary Strategy Committee, a supervising lawyer for Pro Bono Students Canada, a facilitator and evaluator for the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education program, and an instructor for the University of Calgary’s Trial Advocacy Course.

Geoff is married with two children and enjoys spending his free time going on adventures with his family. He is an avid snowboarder and soccer player, and is looking for a new band to play bass guitar with.
