Doug Torrie

Doug graduated from the UBC Faculty of Law in 1987 and was called to the BC Bar in 1988. Prior to moving to Vancouver Island in 1992, Doug practiced with a 50+ lawyer Vancouver law firm, principally in the area of corporate and commercial transactions.

Doug’s practice remains primarily focused on commercial and business matters, including business purchases and sales, commercial lending on behalf of financial institutions, corporate reorganizations, company law matters, commercial leasing and commercial real estate transactions.

Doug is currently a Director of the Nanaimo Division of Family Practice, which represents family physicians, locums, hospitalists, nurse practitioners and family medicine residents in Nanaimo and surrounding areas. Additionally, Doug is a former Vice-Chair of the Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation and a former ex-officio director of Aspengrove School.

In his spare time, Doug enjoys cycling, golf, skiing, sailing and all the outdoor activities Vancouver Island has to offer.
